Medication Reminders

Unhurried reminders at home so pills, drops, and morning routines happen when they should.

This helps when doses are missed, pill boxes are confusing, or you are calling every morning to ask whether Dad took his tablets.

Medication reminders are a quiet but high-stakes part of staying at home. A caregiver can prompt the dose, sit with a glass of water, and notice if something looks different — without turning the kitchen into a clinic.

This service is reminder support as part of the care plan. We are not a pharmacy and we do not diagnose. When a nurse should give or check a medication, that sits under in-home nursing instead.

Families often combine reminders with breakfast, personal care, or an evening visit so the dose is not a separate appointment. We document what was prompted and tell you if a dose was refused or delayed.

Support is in the client's home across Calgary and nearby communities. Bring an up-to-date list from the pharmacy or family doctor so we are working from the same page.

What we help with

  • On-schedule prompts for daily medications
  • Help with pill organizers already set up by family or pharmacy
  • Water, food timing, and a calm routine
  • Notes to family if a dose is missed or refused
  • Handoff to in-home nursing when clinical administration is needed

Questions families ask

Will you fill the dosette from the pharmacy bottles?

Family or the pharmacy should set up blister packs or a dosette. We remind and support from that system. Nursing can be added if administration is prescribed.

Is this the same as in-home nursing?

No. Reminders are everyday prompting. Nursing is clinical: wounds, vitals, and giving medication when that is part of a nursing visit.
