Why families use CDHCI
Standard AHS home care assigns services through the public system. CDHCI gives eligible clients more say in who provides care and when visits happen, while still using an approved funding pathway.
If your case manager mentions a client-directed budget, ask what services are covered and how invoicing works. Senior Comfort Homecare helps Calgary families understand the steps. See our CDHCI page.
How to get started
Eligibility and budget amounts are decided through Alberta Health Services assessments, not by private agencies. Once approved, you select an authorized provider, agree on a care plan, and invoices are submitted according to program rules.
Keep paperwork organized and ask questions early. A clear care plan prevents confusion for everyone.
